Well preserved work. Minor yellowing to the paper. Glued to cardboard frame. Signed V Jastrau at the lower left. In very good condition.
A charming work. Made as an illustration for the Danish edition of an Alexandre Dumas novel about The Three Musketeers. A similar work is dated 1898.
Jastrau attended the art school of Lauritz Tuxen 1883-1884. In 1885 he went to Paris and studied under Fernand Cormon. He was a pupil of P. S. Kroyer 1886-1888.
